Harold And Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay
I had the pleasure of seeing Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay last night over in Costa Mesa. I was a big fan of Harold and Kumar go to White Castle and I was eagerly awaiting the sequel. The lastest film in the series delivers on every level. It is easily one of the crudest and juvenile comedies I’ve ever seen and that’s what made it fantastic. The movie is filled with all the toilet and sex humor you could hope for in a comedy about smoking weed and getting laid which is essentially the plot, aside from it being laced with an amazingly funny but accurate critique of the American Foreign Policy. I think Neil Patrick Harris is amazing at playing himself and he really makes the movie with an appearance midway through, where he’s tripping out on ’shrooms and in search of “getting his dick wet.” It’s also really great to see a movie where the two stars are Asian-Americans in an industry that’s still (unfortunately) dominated by caucasian actors and actresses. At the premier, another Harold and Kumar sequel was announced, so look forward to more blazin’ humor with Kal Penn and John Cho in the years to come, I surely am!
